Anthony Gagliano was born in New York City. His prior professions have included, being a cab driver, a school teacher, an insurance agent, a bouncer and even a house detective for the Saint Moritz Hotel in Manhattan.

In 1984, he was bitten by the travel bug and headed to South Florida. While in Florida he found employment as a waiter, an aerobics instructor, a personal trainer (Jack Vaughn's chosen profession) and as a freelance writer.

He is a graduate of Queens College of the City University of New York. He also holds a Masters Degree from Florida International University in creative writing. 

Anthony's work has appeared in Muscle Mag International, Gulfstream Magazine, Miami Noir, along with other publications. Straits of Fortune is his debut novel published by William Morrow an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.
